Guardamar

The very Spanish coastal town of Guardamar is well worth a visit.  The endless sandy beaches are second to none.  This is a very popular holiday destination for the Spanish and it makes a lively evening out in the summer months.  The night market is good for souvenir and clothes shopping and there are some excellent restaurants throughout the town.  Walk along the promenade with the rest of the Spanish and enjoy some freshly caught sardines at one of the bars - it's a must!

Guardamar holds its own Moors and Christians Fiesta, normally around 25/26 July.  The parades and fireworks can only be described as spectacular.  (Weekly market day: Wednesday, but you are advised to go early).
